Music

By far, the most surprising thing about me is that I've been a hip-hop artist since 1991. While growing up in Ann Arbor, Michigan, I had the opportunity to know and work with dozens of incredibly talented musicians of all genres. I fell in love with hip-hop during its Golden Era of the late 80's and early 90's and have worked hard to hone the craft of MCing, DJing, and production over the years. I've also picked up keys and hand percussion recently.

I've formed and performed with bands called Corruption Committee, Brick House Blend, and am currently on a two-man project with my bass-playing bandmate, which we call Re-Education Camp. Since we began in 2013, we've worked with countless musicians across the state, signed with Bad Apple Records, and were nominated for a Lexington Music Award in 2015. Our EPs and LPs are available on all streaming platforms.

Fantasy Novels

If you had told me 5 years ago that I would have several books available on Amazon, I would have assumed you were talking about some sort of books about my research.

Nope! It's just my epic fantasy megaseries called "Kingdom of One." It all started when I had the idea for making a short book about my kids in a crazy fantasy world. Well, that short book idea turned into a 5-book series.

But I didn't stop there. I fell in love with the characters I created and kept going with more series, and soon I had a whopping 35 books outlined and ready to write. Whew! It's quite a task, but it's a labor of love for sure, and I enjoy every bit of it. Feel free to check out my work on Amazon as the author V.J. Magus.
